An electric vehicle (EV) car is a type of vehicle powered by an electric motor instead of a gasoline engine. The power source is stored in a battery that can be recharged either by plugging into a charging station or through regenerative braking. EVs are environmentally friendly as they emit no harmful pollutants, produce less noise and have lower operating costs compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. They also have improved performance, acceleration and driving experience. Examples of electric vehicles include the Tesla Model S, Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Bolt and BMW i3.
